At The Beau, we are committed to providing high-quality products and excellent service. This Returns and Refund Policy complies with applicable South African consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

By purchasing from our store, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Cooling-Off Period for Online Purchases

In accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, customers who purchase products online have the right to cancel their order within 7 days of receiving the product without providing a reason.

To qualify for a return during this cooling-off period:

  • The product must be unused
  • The product must be returned in its original packaging
  • All accessories and included items must be returned
  • Proof of purchase must be provided

The customer will be responsible for return shipping costs unless the product is defective or incorrectly supplied.

Once the returned item has been received and inspected, The Beau will process the refund within 30 days.

2. Defective or Faulty Products (6-Month Warranty)

Under the Consumer Protection Act, all goods carry an implied six-month warranty of quality.

If a product:

  • Is defective
  • Is unsafe
  • Is not of acceptable quality
  • Does not perform as expected

the customer may return it within 6 months of delivery.

Customers may choose one of the following remedies:

  • A repair
  • A replacement
  • A full refund

If the defect is confirmed, The Beau will cover reasonable return shipping costs.

This warranty does not apply where the product failure is caused by:

  • Misuse or abuse
  • Accidental damage
  • Improper storage
  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications
  • Failure to follow product instructions

3. Hygiene and Personal Care Products

Due to hygiene reasons, certain personal care products cannot be returned once used.

The following items cannot be returned if opened or used, unless they are defective:

  • Hair styling tools used on hair
  • Personal care products that have been opened

This policy helps ensure the safety and hygiene of all customers.

4. Incorrect or Damaged Orders

If you receive:

  • The wrong product
  • A damaged item
  • An item missing from your order

Please contact The Beau within 48 hours of receiving your order and provide photographic evidence.

We will arrange either:

  • A replacement product, or
  • A full refund where appropriate.

5. Return Process

To request a return, please contact our support team.

Include the following information:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Photos of the product if damaged or defective

Once your return request has been reviewed, we will provide instructions on how to return the product.

Unauthorized returns may not be accepted.

6. Refund Processing

Once a returned product has been received and inspected, The Beau will notify you of the outcome of your refund request.

Approved refunds will be issued:

  • To the original payment method
  • Within 30 days, as required under South African consumer law

Shipping fees are non-refundable, unless the return is due to a defect or an error on our part.

7. Exchanges

Exchanges are only available if the product is:

  • Defective
  • Damaged
  • Incorrectly supplied

Exchanges are subject to product availability.

8. Abuse of Returns

To protect our business from fraudulent or abusive returns, The Beau reserves the right to refuse a return or refund if:

  • The product shows signs of significant use
  • The product has been damaged by the customer
  • The return request is determined to be fraudulent
